Swing By Silver City and the Red Dog Saloon

Reno’s a great place to visit. Not only is it in close proximity to Fernley, but you can also go on over to the ghost town of Silver City and see what life was like back when gold mining was commonplace in Nevada.

The city has been used for many movie sets, and as such offers visitors quite an experience! After seeing the historical buildings that make up Reno, drive about ten minutes more south-west before visiting Virginia City which is famous for its role during key moments in American history including psychedelia during the 1960s – Red Dog Saloon!

Silver City is filled with interesting shops and restaurants, as well as mining companies that have been restored to showcase their history. There’s also a casino, if you’re into gambling!

One of the best things about Silver City is that it has plenty of outdoor activities for anyone and everyone. You can go on a guided tour through the mines or take a horseback riding trip out into the Mojave Desert. There are also tons of trails in the nearby mountains, so you can spend your time hiking and enjoying nature. If you want to stay indoors, there is an art museum and a theater in town just waiting for you to check out!

Visit the Nevada Archaeological Sites at Churchill County Museum

While Fernley is its own special place, there are also many places nearby to enjoy Nevada’s natural beauty. If you’re in the area for a little bit longer than expected and want to take a break from exploring, about 45 minutes away you can visit either the Grimes Point Archaeological Area of The Hidden Cave Archaeological Area. To fully appreciate the history and heritage of the area, immersing yourself in visits to museums and archaeological sites is essential. If you’re considering a lengthy stay, mobile homes for rent in Fernley, NV, offer a convenient and comfortable option.

Both areas offer picnic spots, and of course trails where you can view ancient petroglyphs. Unfortunately though that the cave at Hidden Cave site is currently under excavation so it is closed off but walking through these surrounding trails will still allow visitors to see petroglyphs on them as well as guided tours all month long so they understand everything they need to know straight from an expert

Meanwhile, Churchill County Museum is filled with local artifacts that date back centuries ago as well as more modern pieces. This museum is true to its name as it features Churchill County history and culture through exhibits like traditional clothing and tools used by early settlers.

The cool thing about this museum is that they have rotating exhibits which means something new opens every few months! Sometimes they feature cool pop culture displays like celebrity collections or historical themes such as World War I and II.
